Large gold deposits are expected to be found in the West Kunlun region

The reporter recently learned from the Breakthrough Seminar on Gold Exploration in the Kuokjilgaxi Kiczech Area of Aktao County, Xinjiang that the "Kuokjilgaxi Kiczech Area Gold Exploration" project implemented by the Second Geological Brigade of the Xinjiang Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources has made new progress in ore exploration. After estimation, it is estimated that the gold reserves are expected to increase from 10 tons in the early exploration stage to over 30 tons. The Kuokjilega Gold Mine was discovered by the Second Geological Brigade of Xinjiang Geological and Mineral Resources Bureau in 1986, but its development was interrupted due to its small scale and high mining costs. In 2019, the Xinjiang Geological Exploration Fund Center restarted the project. After 4 years of exploration, technicians have discovered that the deep part of the Kuokjilega gold deposit has a clear trend of thickening and enrichment, which has the potential to search for large-scale and above sized gold deposits. Experts believe that the gold ore exploration prospects in the Kuokjilga area are broad. It is recommended to further strengthen the systematic and refined research of mineralization structures and alteration information in subsequent work, and strive to achieve greater breakthroughs in ore exploration.
