CK Nonferrous Metals reported that Arcadium, a giant in Australia's lithium mining industry, recently announced that it will suspend some
operations at its Mt Cattlin mine in Western Australia and plan to enter a maintenance period in 2025, according to overseas media. The
decision stems from the sharp drop in lithium prices to multi-year lows, with lithium pyroxene currently fetching $750-820 per tonne CIF.
The company said it will consider resuming production once market conditions improve.Arcadium is one of a number of Australian lithium
producers that have adjusted their business strategies to adapt to changes in the market.
